Security sources, are alleging that a combined team of heavily armed security men from the Force headquarters, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have concluded plans to raid the Maitama residence of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
When Post-Nigeria’s Correspondent probed further, the security source revealed that a list of Senators, mostly those who opposed the confirmation of the EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu, have been placed on security radar, especially the likes of Senator Dino Melaye.
“Senator Bukola Saraki is on the watch-list. Any moment from now, his residence might be raided. The EFCC is out to fight back. It is now survival of the fittest. For Dino Maleye, he is under 24-hours security surveillance. All his bank transactions are undergoing forensic checks,’’ the source said.
Recall, that a few weeks ago, anti-Magu Senator, Peter Nwaoboshi, raised an alarm that the EFCC was after him and other Senators, due to their opposition to the confirmation of the Acting Chairman, Magu, by the Senate.
The EFCC, was investigating Nwaoboshi’s alleged complicity in the non-execution of N4 billion contract, awarded by the government of Delta State.
Nwaobosho was also accused of not declaring all the companies and bank accounts belonging to him, to the Code of Conduct Bureau.
Meanwhile, on Thursday evening, heavily armed security men numbering about 40, invaded the residence of the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Danjuma Goje.
It was gathered that the security men comprising Policemen and others, stormed the number 10, Haile Selassie Street, Asokoro District, Asokoro, residence of the Senator.
The security operatives, who arrived in five operational vans and a bus, combed the gigantic residence of Goje, a close Ally of the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki.
